The best way to get the daily nutrient is still by eating a well balanced diet. But, let’s face it, how many of us even remember the last time we had a balanced diet? That way, we know that the little you are eating is being complemented. Take note that supplements are supposed to complement your daily nutrient intake, and not replace the natural sources of those nutrients.

Here are some common supplements with when and how they should be taken.
Calcium is needed for strong bones. Young people need 1000mg of calcium daily while older men and women need 1,200mg. Although they are naturally supplied by the natural foods we eat, taking supplements can help make sure we take the required daily amount. But, you can only take 500 to 600 mg of calcium at once. Too much of calcium causes a spike in calcium levels in the blood. So, you have to divide the dose into two. Take 2 and a half in the morning, and 2 and a half at night.
2 Fish Oil
Fish oil helps fight against heart disease and has been used in treatment of inflammation. But, it causes frequent belching. To limit this, keep it in the refrigerator and let it freeze. It should be taken before a meal so they can go deep down into the system before the food is digested.
3 Vitamin C
Vitamin C is water-soluble and therefore very easy to digest. In essence, there is no stipulated time for taking vitamin C. Just make sure you don’t take it on an empty stomach; it is acidic and taking it on an empty stomach can trigger nausea. Take it with a meal and at the same time every day.
4 Vitamin D
Vitamin D deficiency has been linked to some types of cancer, diabetes, and obesity. It is produced by the body in the presence of sunlight. There is no best time to take it. Like vitamin C, don’t take on an empty stomach and take it with a meal the same time, everyday. Vitamin D is fat soluble and works best when eaten with fatty foods.
5. Collagen Supplements
Collagen is that protein substance that gives the skin its elasticity. Low secretion of collagen will result in wrinkles and fast aging. Collagen supplements are taken to help cover that gap. The effects of the supplements is known to reduce when taken with acidic foods, like orange. So, the time you take collagen all depends on the time you had something acidic. For instance, if you had oranges in the morning, take the supplements at night.
Cannabidiol or CBD is an oil extract. It is extracted from some types of marijuana. Don’t worry, it doesn’t make one high. It provides relief from pain and anxiety and works best when taken on an empty stomach.
