FIVE WAYS TO GET RID OF SUNBURN
Sunburn is a burn resulting from too much exposure to ultra violet light (mostly from the sun’s rays). Intense exposure to the sun that results in sunburn could increase the risk of skin damages such as dark spots, rough spots and dry or wrinkled skin.
Here are some quick tips to help with sunburn:
TAKE SOOTHING BATHS
To calm your inflamed skin, you need to shower with cold water, as it is soothing. You should also skip soap in when you shower. Using soap could dry out your already inflamed skin. If you must, use a mild soap (baby soaps contains mild formula, you can try those instead).
TRY ALOE VERA GEL
Aloe Vera gel is one sunburn relief option that can be gotten easily. You can get the gel from the plant directly or buy 100% pure aloe Vera gel and apply on the affected areas. This will provide immediate soothing relief for your skin.
USE SUNSCREEN
Sunscreen will protect your skin from the sun so before going out next time, apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen with a sun protection factor of at least 30.
DRINK EXTRA WATER
A sunburn will draw moisture from the rest of the body to the skin’s surface so you need to drink water more to avoid dehydration.
WEAR BREATHABLE CLOTHING
Do not wear tight fitting clothes that will further irritate your inflamed skin. Go for loose and breathable clothes that would let air get to your skin.
