How to Deal With Tangled Hair

For your hair detangler, conditioner, and shampoo, we’ve got the best ones for you.

Tangling hairs are just the worst, ugh! The cringing while combing, the breakage, and the pain – you wonder “why can’t the comb just run freely?!” Believe me when I say I know exactly how you feel because I have felt it, too. But, cheer up because I didn’t come empty handed. That’s right, I came with a solution. Every tip here is tested and proven to be effective in managing tangles. But first, let’s see what is causing the tangling.

Hair tangles when:

1.  It is dry. If your hair lacks moisture, it will tangle.

2. You leave your hair loose for too long.

3. There is too much friction.

4.  Untrimmed hair! This is probably the hardest to take in since we can’t bear the thought of intentionally cutting off a part of our hair, even if it is just a little. Those dry ends of your hair are causing it to tangle and, if you don’t cut them off, they’ll get your hair in trouble.

How do you get rid of tangles?

No hair is immune to tangling. It doesn’t matter how soft or straight your hair is, if you expose it to conditions that can cause it to tangle, it will. So, here is what I promised. That’s right; ways in which you can get the comb to run freely through your hair without pain.

1. Apply Oil before you comb.

This is for when your hair tangles when it is dry. Apply the oil to moisturize your hair, start from the root of your hair and work your way up. Make sure every part of the hair is saturated, then grab a wide-toothed comb and start combing gently and slowly. If you don’t like oil, you can use a detangler. We have different types right here.

2. Always Use Conditioner.

After you have shampooed your hair and are satisfied, don’t leave the bathroom just yet. Get your conditioner and apply to your hair. Conditioners moisturize and smooth your hair. Comb with a wide-toothed comb while your hair is still damp. If the tangles are too much for the comb, let your fingers assist. Use your fingers to detangle the hair, and then use the comb to finish off the job. Remember to be gentle.

3. Comb Your Hair Before you Shampoo.

No matter how hard it is, try to comb your hair before your start washing it. It will be more painful if you wash without first smoothening out the edges.

4. Shampoo Properly.

When you shampoo, focus your fingers on the top, sides, and back of your hair. Wash smoothly and straight. Don’t pack your hair in your fist because you might end up creating knots yourself; I tend to do that and it hurts after!

5. Make Hairstyles that will make it Stretch.

You have to be very choosy with hairstyles if you want your hair to tangle less. Make hairstyles that will soften up your hair leaving little or no room for tangles.
