How to Stimulate Hair Growth on Your Child’s Head

Few months after birth, babies lose the hair they are born with. As they grow, the hairs start to grow out, some faster than others. But there are situations where the hairs don’t grow at all or don’t grow as you’d like. This may be due to underlying conditions. Or it may be for some other reasons. Whatever the reason, these tips should trigger the growth of your child’s hair into fullness and lushness.

1. Get a Medical Diagnosis for Underlying Conditions

Talk to your child’s doctor; perhaps there is a medical explanation for why her hair is like that. Whatever it is, your doctor can explain the conditions, as well as the treatment, to you. Pay close attention to symptoms, if there’s any.

2. Apply Onion Juice to Scalp

Grate an onion and strain out the juice. Then apply it to your child’s hair; you can either rub it in or use a spray bottle. Apply twice a day; you’ll see results soon enough. This works especially if the problem is alopecia areata.

3. Shampoo Hair Every Other Day

For scaly patches on the scalp, a condition known as cradle cap, wash her hair every other day with baby-friendly shampoo. Massage her scalp as you shampoo to aid the removal of the flakes.

4. Provide Enough Protein.

Hair is made up of protein; hence, the need for protein for growth. Protein ensures healthy hair growth and strength because it supplies the needed keratin. So, ensure your child eats enough protein.

5. Supply Vitamins

Include foods such as fruits and vegetables that supply vitamins. Vitamins such as C and E are needed for hair growth and fruits and veggies are great sources of vitamins.

6. Make Loose Hairstyles

Quit packing your child’s hair into ponytail. This pulls the hair straight to the roots and can trigger hair loss. Instead, make loose hairstyles that won’t pull at the scalp. Don’t leave the hair loose overnight; overnight turning and tossing can cause hair tangling and loss.

7. Comb Only When Necessary

Combing the hair can lead to hair loss, especially when you comb while the hair is wet. So, unless it is absolutely necessary, don’t comb the hair. If it is dry, use oil or moisturizer before you comb.

8. Leave it Natural

You might be tempted to relax your child’s hair; don’t do it. I’ve heard people say relaxing the hair makes it longer. It doesn’t. Instead, the chemicals alter your hair’s chemical and physical composition and weakens it. The more you use it, the weaker your hair gets. So, relaxing your child’s hair will only make things worse. Leave it natural. “Cocci Beauty” offers natural hair care regimen that make taking care of natural hair smooth and easy.

9. Apply Cream

Ringworm is a fungal infection of the skin. It is known to cause hair loss when the characteristic red patches appear on the scalp. Apply creams such as clotrimazole or miconazole to treat it.
