Makeup Tips for Oily Skin: How to Make It Last All Day Long!

If you have an oily skin, you’re probably not looking forward to applying makeup. You don’t like the way you look just few hours after applying! I understand you perfectly.
But, what if I say there’s a way you can prevent looking like you could fry some chicken on your face? What if I say there is something you can do to make the makeup last? That’s right. You can apply makeup and enjoy it all day long, and here’s how:
.

First of all, Keep Your Face Clean

Before you put anything on your face, clean it. For sure there’s dirt, oil, and dead skin on it; those are the things that ruin everything. Clean with oil-free cleansers and warm water. Make sure you are cleansing your face at least once a day. And don’t forget exfoliation. Get the dead skin and dirt out at least once a week.

Prime Your Face

Mattifying primers will make the makeup stay. If you have an oily skin, applying a primer to your skin before you put makeup on will keep the makeup in place all through the day. It should be used after you’ve cleaned your face, but before anything else.

Moisturize and Hydrate

Your skin is producing too much oil because it sees the need for it! Moisturize and hydrate your skin with products containing hyaluronic acid. They provide moisture to your skin while getting rid of excess oil. And it prevents loss of moisture which will keep the sebaceous glands from doing too much.

Use Waterproof Products

They are awfully stressful to remove, but waterproof mascara is your best bet it you want a long-lasting makeup. Water messes up makeup just as bad as oil does. Besides, you’ll be glad of your choice when you stand in front of the mirror at the end of the day and your makeup looks as if you just applied it.

Translucent Powder After Primer

Popular belief is that you only apply powder after the whole process of making up, but you can actually apply immediately after priming your face. It works together with the primer to keep the oils off your makeup!

Don’t Overdo It

It may seem the more powder you put, the dryer your skin can stay. But too much powder will result in production of more oil. Apply powder only to the oily areas.

Use Oil-Free Products

For someone with oily skin, you know the last thing you need is more oil. So, check the labels on the products you use, and make they are oil-free.

Go for Long-Wear

When you go shopping for foundation, buy the one that says “long wear”. They have ingredients and special contents that make them last on the skin.

Keep Blotting Papers on Hand

If you still find some oil as the day progresses, having blotting papers on hand to blot the glistering away. Pat (do not wipe) the area dry with blotting paper.
