SIX FOOD ITEMS TO IMPROVE HEART HEALTH

The heart is the powerhouse of your entire body. Prioritizing its health and wellbeing will have you making generally healthier choices. Consuming sugar, sugary beverages, saturated and Trans-fat, refined grains, red meat, salt, amongst others frequently damages your heart in the end. FRUITS AND VEGGIES

Fruits and vegetables contain many health nutrients, especially fiber, which can help lower cholesterol and blood pressure. Go for fresh or frozen vegetables and fruits, low-sodium canned vegetables and fruits, low-sodium canned vegetables, canned fruit packed in juice or water.

FISH AND SKINLESS POULTRY

They also reduce the risk of dying of a heart disease. Poultry without the skins contains less cholesterol and saturated fats. Eating skinless poultry can lead to a reduction in total cholesterol as well as a reduction in the risk of heart disease. 

WHOLE GRAINS

Whole grains are most useful if you need to lower cholesterol or control blood sugar levels. Whole grains are good sources of dietary fiber so eat a lot of those. 

NUTS

Nuts are packed with heart friendly nutrients, like vitamin c, omega-3 fatty acids, fiber and unsaturated fats. Besides being a good source of protein, nuts contain a healthy type of fact that is heart protective. Nuts also come in handy in weight loss.

LOW FAT DAIRY PRODUCTS

Low fat dairy products helps improve cholesterol level and may be associated with reduced risk of hyperpigmentation. Low fat dairy products will not increase a person’s risk of heart disease or stroke, which makes it a safe option.
