After going through the first lockdown, we are all hopeful but with every passing day, it becomes clearer that a second lockdown is looming (for those countries that have not started already). We learnt a lot from the first but if you are still unprepared, here are a couple things you ought to get in order as you prepare for the second phase of lockdown.

MEDICATIONS

Make sure you have at least 30 days’ supply of medications you need. You can extend it to a 90 days’ supply. It is advisable to have a few fever and cold medications. Malaria and pain medications too are good ideas to stock up on.

WATERS

Most houses could have healthy drinkable tap water. If you do not belong in this category then it is advisable to stock up on water bottle, sachet water or buy a water filter. Also, buy thirst-quenching drinks and powders to help in times of dehydration.

FOOD

It is advisable to stock up on at least two weeks’ worth of food before lockdown commences. You can also stock up on finger foods and canned food items as they have longer shelf life.

BUY THE ESSENTIALS

Stock up on your nose masks, hand sanitizers, gloved and hand washes. They can come in handy especially if you want to go out in public to avoid being fined or being at risk of getting the disease. Do not forget to stock up on your toiletries like toothpaste, tissue paper, shampoo, bath soap, etc. you might not have the luxury of buying them at will during the lockdown

DON’T FORGET THE TECHNOLOGY

You might go back to working from home, the kids might also go back to online classes so it is ideal to prepare ahead. Get the necessary designs and hotspot ready. You never know what will happen tomorrow. You can also stock up on indoor games to keep the family occupied on boring days.

STAY SAFE

Try as much as possible to avoid large gatherings and going out without the essential protective gear.
