The Pros and Cons of Human Hair Wig
Human hair is one of the two major types of wigs there are, the other one being synthetic wig. It is the most expensive of the two. It is collected from actual people who voluntarily donate their hair. The donors come from different parts of the world: Ukraine, Brazil, India, China, Peru, Mongolia, among others. And, because the wig is essentially made of actual human hair, it is the most natural wig one’s going to get. When it comes to wigs, human hair is as close to natural hair as it gets.
The hair is available in two forms: raw and processed. Processed human hair had undergone some chemical changes. Raw hair is as the name implies, “raw”. It can be styled, dyed, or even trimmed or cut, and is made in such a way that it faces the same direction as your natural hair.
Types of Human Hair
The types depend on where the hairs are coming from. Their names are given based on what country the donors are from. These include:
• Brazilian hair from Brazil
• Chinese hair from China
• Malaysian hair from Malaysia
• Indian hair from Indian donors
• Indonesian hair from Indonesia
• European hair from Eastern Europe
• Caucasian hair from Caucasia
The hairs are very fine, richly colored, and voluminous in depth. Considering availability, Brazillian human is the most readily available. And that’s why even babies know there’s something called Brazillian hair. Indian hair is also gaining popularity.
The Pros
• Because human hair wig is made from aual human hair, this gives you the feel of your natural hair. As in you feel like it is your hair. And, yes, it makes us feel good!
• You can treat the wig about the same way you treat your hair. Same care, same natural oils, same tools, and same washing routine. The only difference is the products you use must be the ones made especially for human hair.
• You can twist and manipulate human hair wig into any style that suits you. You can even cut if that is what it will take to fit into the style you choose.
• Washing, combing, brushing, and general maintenance takes only minutes.
• They come in different colors, styles, and textures. So, you can choose any style of preference.
The Cons
• Considering where these hairs come from and the people that donate them, human hair wigs are extremely expensive. And also because they are hard to find.
• The more you dye, the more the quality reduces.
• Like every other wig, human hair has a limited shelf life. Human hair lasts one year at the most if taken care of. If not, 5 months is the highest it’ll stay.
• It needs frequent styling.
• Even when you are sure it is firmly in place, human hair can still give you a shocker: it can come off! And that can be really embarrassing.
