The medically documented indications for clobetasol include certain:

• Resistant inflammatory dermatoses

• Psoriasis, excluding widespread plaque psoriasis

• Lichen planus

• Discoid lupus erythematosus

A UK government product-safety report dated 19 March 2024 identified White Moon Neutrotone Steroid Cream as presenting a serious chemical risk. Laboratory analysis found 321 mg/kg clobetasol propionate, and the corrective action was withdrawal from the market.

The London Trading Standards list also records Neutrotone White Moon Cream among skin-lightening products tested and found to contain clobetasol propionate. 

Canada has separately listed Neutrotone Cream White Moon among unauthorized skin-lightening/skin-treatment products labelled to contain clobetasol propionate.
