But don’t worry, if one doesn’t work, the other will.

1. Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple cider vinegar has a lot of things going for it. It has antioxidant, antibacterial, and anti-dandruff properties. It is associated with a lot of health benefits including weight loss. It is said to be very effective in balancing the pH level of the skin, stimulating the shedding of dead skin cells, as well as getting rid of dandruff. Add a few spoonful of apple cider vinegar to your shampoo or with whatever other oil you want to put in your hair.

2. Coconut Oil

Surely you have heard that coconut oil helps cure dandruff. It does that by hydrating the skin and preventing dryness which can cause dandruff or make it worse. Apart from that, it has also been associated with the cure of eczema, a possible cause of dandruff. The compound in the oil has antimicrobial properties. Too much of it can make your hair too oily, and that will worsen the dandruff.

3. Tea Tree Oil

Tea tree oil is often used in the treatments of acne, eczema, psoriasis, dandruff, even seborrheic dermatitis – a severe case of dandruff, and other skin ailments. It is popular for its anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties. If you have a sensitive skin, you have to be careful how to use it. Dilute a few drops in oil like coconut oil before applying to the skin.

5. Take Enough Rest

You may wonder what rest has to do with hair. It has a lot to do with it. You see, when you don’t rest enough and you get stressed, the naturally occurring yeast-like fungus in your scalp – malassezia that feeds on the oils on your scalp takes advantage of your weakened immune system. Your body is unable to fight off the fungal infections that cause dandruff.
